　　five score years ago, a great american, in whose symbolic shadow we stand signed the emancipation proclamation. this momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. it came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of captivity.

　　but one hundred years later, we must face the tragic fact that the negro is still not free. one hundred years later, the life of the negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. one hundred years later, the negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. one hundred years later, the negro is still languishing in the corners of american society and finds himself an exile in his own land. so we have come here today to dramatize an appalling condition.

　　in a sense we have come to our nation"s capital to cash a check. when the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the constitution and the declaration of independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every american was to fall heir. this note was a promise that all men would be guaranteed the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

　　it is obvious today that america has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. instead of honoring this sacred obligation, america has given the negro people a bad check which has come back marked "insufficient funds." but we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. we refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation.

　　so we have come to cash this check -- a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.

　　we have also come to this hallowed spot to remind america of the fierce urgency of now. this is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. now is the time to open the doors of opportunity to all of god"s children. now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood.

　　it would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment and to underestimate the determination of the negro. this sweltering summer of the negro"s legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning.

　　those who hope that the negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. there will be neither rest nor tranquility in america until the negro is granted his citizenship rights. the whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.

　　but there is something that i must say to my people who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice. in the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.

　　we must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. we must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.

　　the marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the negro community must not lead us to distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny and their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom.

　　we cannot walk alone.and as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall march ahead. we cannot turn back. there are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, "when will you be satisfied?" we can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. we cannot be satisfied as long as the negro"s basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. we can never be satisfied as long as a negro in mississippi cannot vote and a negro in new york believes he has nothing for which to vote. no, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.

　　每个人都有梦想，它是人人所向往的。没有梦想的人的人生将是空虚的，人生没有梦想就如飞机失去航标，船只失去灯塔，终将被社会所淘汰。但梦想总是随着思想的前进而改变的。碌碌无为是庸人所为，奋发图强是智者之举。

　　小学时，我有一个梦想。我希望每天都不要有很多的家庭作业要做。玩耍的时间一点点被剥夺，而我们一天中的三分之一被禁锢在教室，很多时间在学习。上初中的时候，我有一个梦想，我希望自己能成为一名尖子生;回到家能受到家人的表扬;在学校能受到老师们的肯定;在同学之间能有鹤立鸡群的表现。之后，我学会了奋斗。

　　忙忙碌碌一天加上晚自习后放学回家，真是又困又累，吃夜宵都没有味道。这样的日子很单调，也许有时候想念许多小学同学，有时候赶着上课还是一双朦胧的睡眼。讨厌死板的校服装，从不穿着它到处走。星期六、星期天的时间真的很短，孩子脾气真想犯，慢慢懂了做人的辛苦和梦想真是太难，还好我会努力，看每一个人都在为了生活而起早赶晚，把握自己不再松散。

　　今天，我有一个梦想，我希望自己能考上一所中意的高中。我为着梦想，`每一天都苦苦寻找着充实自己的辅导书与练习卷，为着光明的未来而努力。

　　梦想像一粒种子，种在“心”的土壤里，尽管它很小，却可以生根开花，假如没有梦想，就像生活在荒凉的戈壁，冷冷清清，没有活力。试问，我们在座的同学们，谁又愿意过那种行尸走肉的日子呢?我相信我不会，你们大家都不会。

　　有了梦想，也就有了追求，有了奋斗的目标，有了梦想，就有了动力。梦想，是一架高高的桥梁，不管最终是否能到达彼岸，拥有梦想，并去追求它，这已经是一种成功，一种荣耀。在追求梦想这个过程中，我们是在成长。

　　它会催人前进，也许在实现梦想的道路中，会遇到无数的挫折和困难，但没关系，跌倒了自己爬起来，为自己的梦想而前进，毕竟前途不仅靠运气，也靠自己创造出来。

　　各位家长、老师、亲爱的同学们：

　　大家上午好！

　　很高兴能在这样的场合发言，虽然在学校集会上讲话也有过许多次，但是今天，心情却是特别的激动。本学期的开学典礼的主题是“梦想，创造奇迹”，学校安排我在“校长之梦”这个篇章里说几句。说实在的，谈起梦想，我也觉得有些惭愧，因为十几年前，我也和在座的某些同学一样，调皮、贪玩、叛逆、甚至颓废，没有梦想与追求，更没有想到过今天能以一个校长的身份站在这里发言。不过幸运的是，当时不管怎样的不争气，我的父母从来没有放弃过我，也许正是因为他们的不放弃让我的心灵慢慢有了触动，我在后来的学习中慢慢地改变着自己，开始努力学习，开始积极表现。上大学后，也总是积极去争取各种能展现自己的机会，担任学生会干部、拿奖学金、评入党等等。我想，也正因为后来的这些改变，为我能够站在这里发言积累了一点小小的资本吧。

　　我在这里和大家说这些话，目的只想告诉大家：不管你的过去是怎样的不尽人意、怎样的不堪回首，但它都不能决定你的未来，不能决定你的作为；关键是今天的你是否打算改变这一切。有两位名人的故事大家是非常熟悉的，一位是新东方的创始人俞敏洪，一位是阿里巴巴的创始人马云，他们就是邓校长在讲话里曾多次说到的“复读哥”。

　　俞敏洪，复读了两年，前两次高考英语分别只考了33分和55分，他当时的梦想就是能考入常熟师范念个大专，糟糕的是他连这个目标都没有能实现。他再一次选择了复读，同时也选择了改变自己，拼了命的去学习，终于考进了北大英文系，此后的命运也便发生了翻天覆地的变化。马云，自幼习武，喜欢打架，挨过处分，两次落榜，数学两次分别考了1分和19分，第三次高考，勉强被杭州师范学院录取，正是在这一个平台上他开始改变自己，积极进取，为后来的成功奠定了坚实的基础。()还有邓校长去年用《从“四差”到“四优”的蜕变》为题讲叙了他曲折的人生经历，以及上周四晚上做的《天无绝人之路》的广播讲话，讲到肯德基创始人的故事，失败上千次之后终于在60多岁的时候创立了自己的事业。

　　所以，我想对同学们说，不管你的过去是怎样的糟糕，只要今天的你有勇气和决心去改变，就会有产生奇迹的可能；只要今天的你选择开始奋斗，一切都不会晚；不要因为今天的表彰大会是少数优秀学生的舞台而让你丧失信心。其实这都不要紧，只要你今天开始改变，我就相信未来属于你的舞台也会更大；即使你现在还不曾设定自己的梦想，这也不要紧，俞敏洪和马云今天的成功也绝非他们当初所预想，关键是今天的你打不打算向前开始迈出第一步。一个人如果连今天都不能把握的话，他是没有资格谈明天的。如果不甘心于明天的平庸，就请你从今天起，开始改变自己吧！

　　在这里我把我101班《班级宣言》中的几句话送给那些还没有下定决心改变的同学：不做懦弱的退缩，不做无谓的彷徨。告别颓丧，扬起希望；告别散漫，打造理想。用最刻苦的精神，最坚韧的毅力，最饱满的热情，最昂扬的斗志，珍惜每一天，让汗水哺育不凡；奋斗每一天，用智慧丰富内涵；拼搏每一天，凭激情创造灿烂。我坚信：我自信，我努力，我成功！

　　最后，我祝愿各位家长、老师、同学在新的学期身体健康、工作顺利、学习进步。祝愿高三学子在XX年的高考当中再续慧德神话！
